After Duccio di Buoninsegna (Italian, c.1255–1260– c.1318–1319) antique travel icon of Madonna and Child. The sacred icon made with tempera and pure gold on wood. Work performed with the ancient pictorial techniques of the Sienese school of the fifteenth century. The icon with a pair of folding wooden doors with handles adorned with fringe. Mounted on a hand painted and gilded stand. Circa: late 18th century-early 19th century. Duccio di Buoninsegna (c. 1255-1260 - c. 1318-1319) was one of the most influential Italian artists of his time. The original paper label of New York City Rigo Cardenas Antique Textiles on the back.
